The hoof should not be oiled or lubricated with grease before the cover will easily slip up then.
Size S fits up to approx. 00 on the hoof.
Size M fits up to approx. 0-1 on the hoof.
Size L fits from approx. 1-2 on the hoof.
Note that this depends a little on how the hoof is shaped.
