Myler Stainless Steel 3 3/4" Dee with Hooks, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2
The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it will rotate on the tongue and apply tongue pressure, however, it has a small (¼") port that introduces some tongue relief to the horse. The port allows the horse to swallow and move his tongue when he is moving forward and relaxed, which acts as a release or reward. The mouthpiece is curved, and it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching.

The MB 02 is the Myler alternative to the traditional French link or lozenge mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits. The MB 02 rotates onto the tongue, applying tongue pressure, but because the mouthpiece is curved, it wraps around the bars and lips instead of pinching. The barrel in the center applies approximately the same pressure on the tongue as a traditional three-piece mouthpiece, however, the barrel distributes the pressure more kindly and creates Independent Side Movement™.
Independent Side Movement™ Stainless Steel mouthpiece Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars Copper Inlay
The loose ring is a simple stainless steel "O" shape where both the bridle and mouthpiece have no fixed point of attachment but slide freely around the ring. The loose ring allows a lot of play as the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring
3" ring
Notes: The loose ring is generally considered one of the most non-interfering cheek pieces because the mouthpiece slides freely around the ring. However the play in the mouthpiece can make it difficult for a horse to find your hands as the mouthpiece is in continual motion. The movement of the mouthpiece can also exaggerate or create a busy mouth in young or anxious horses. It is best suited for more advanced horses fully schooled in leg and seat aids as well as rein aids.
The MB 33 is the mildest Myler mouthpiece in terms of tongue pressure. The generously wide port allows room for the tongue to pass almost completely under the bit. Because this mouthpiece does not rotate on to the tongue and the port is wide, it applies little to no tongue pressure, working primarily off the lips and bars. The port on this mouthpiece is only 1 ½" high, so it will apply little to no palate pressure. Because the MB 33 offers such a high degree of tongue relief, the horse that goes well in this mouthpiece has a trustworthy and consistent disposition, and is trained to work off the leg and seat as well as the hands.

The MB 27LP is a Myler correctional mouthpiece, which is a ported mouthpiece that collapses on to the outer lip and bars, and rotates on to the tongue. The port, although narrow, offers room for the horse’s tongue to pass under the bit. When the reins are engaged and the mouthpiece rotates on to the tongue, it applies two concentrated points of pressure on the tongue for quick control. Because this port is only 1 ¼" high, it will apply little to no palate pressure. Cyprium is a nickel-free copper alloy suitable for horses with a sensitivity to nickel.
NO Independent Side Movement Cyprium Mouthpiece Curved Mouthpiece Notes: For the same benefits but with Independent Side Movement, see the MB 27PB. For more tongue relief and slower action, see the MB 41PB.
The Kimberwick is a “D” shaped stainless steel ring with a purchase for the headstall and two attachment options for a single pair of reins: the direct (snaffle) and the indirect (curb) positions. Comes with curb chain. Like the Pelham, the purchase creates a fixed cheek so the bit is held in the correct position. The rider can choose the direct (snaffle) position or indirect (Curb) position for rein attachment. The Indirect Rein position adds very little to mild leverage. Designed to be used with only one pair of reins.
Action: Snaffle position is Direct rein action. Curb position is Indirect rein action.
Size: 4" “D” shaped ring with purchase
Discipline: English
Degree of Leverage: Very little to mild leverage when the lower rein hook is used.
